Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are almost at the end of this school year. I know that the students are counting down the days.

On Wednesday, May 2nd, before the Children’s Liturgy, the students participated in the May Crowning ceremony.  The month of May is dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God.  Please take time with your children to talk about Mary and her role in the life of Jesus and in our lives.

Our 2nd graders will be receiving the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist on Saturday, May 5th.  Please remember the little angels in your prayers.  What a beautiful day it will be for all!

There are a few important dates that I would like to mention to you.  The Student Council Induction and the Seventh Grade – Eighth Grade Candle Ceremony will take place during Mass on Wednesday, May 16th. .  Congratulations to all who will receive the honor of being on the Student Council and also congratulations to our 7th grade students who will accept a lighted candle from our 8th graders as they move up to 8th grade and commit themselves to being responsible leaders of our school.

Our eighth graders will spend their last day of school here at Saint David on May 23rd.  It will be a busy week for them taking their final exams and ending with their trip to Disney on Thursday.  The eighth grade banquet will be held on June 1st and graduation Mass will be on June 2nd.  We will be sorry to see them leave as they have been an exemplary eighth grade class.  God bless each and everyone!

We are very proud of our inaugural boy’s and girl’s flag football team. You might enjoy seeing them in action. Congratulations to the boy’s baseball team who went undefeated this season.

As always, we are so proud of all of our Saint David Students.

Technology Advancements for the

2012-2013 School Year

We are proud and excited to announce that Saint David will begin deploying the new IPad 3 in the upcoming school year. The 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Math program will be new and IPad based. Each student will have the ability to interact and work on their own IPad in the classroom.

IPads with early education centered apps will be utilized in the lower grades. In addition both the Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms will have Smart Boards installed this summer.

We will be deploying 70 netbooks in the middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th grade) Language Arts program along with network printers for student use. This will give each student the opportunity to work on their own netbook during each Language Arts class for a variety of writing assignments.

Saint David looks forward to continuing and expanding the use of technology in the classroom. We believe that technology is a valuable tool that teachers should use to support and enhance the student’s overall learning experience.  The possibilities are endless for our students as we move forward together into 21st century education.

At the final FSA meeting this year on May 17 at 6:00 PM a final financial report will be given. Thank you to everyone who attended and help make the night a success.

The Saint David baseball team not only captured the League Championship but also secured the perfect season going 5-0-1 for the year.  The Wolfhounds pitching staff kept opponents bats at bay but it was the offense that proved to be too much as the Wolfhounds outscored their opponents 51-11 on their way to the historic season.
